Hi all

Well it has been a nice day, so decided to try and upgrade my orange indicators to nice clear ones.

Read all the history and although seems a bit of nightmare job, I thought 'what the hell, lets try'. So with rubber mallet in hand and lots of skin healing cream ready I started.

Bonnet off.....check
Access side panels.....check
Unscrew back of indicators......check
Rubber mallet indicator out......check (this is easy!!)
Rubber mallet other indicator out.......check (not so easy and in a million pieces...oops!)
Re-fit new indicator.......not a frickin chance!!!!!

Admittedly, these are not TVR standard parts but are indeed the lenses from Lucas, which are pretty much the same size from what I can tell.

So, here is the question.....
..... they are very tight to try and fit in the from back and how can I force them in, or if this is due to non standard part, would the genuine ones just slide in (and held in place with some bonding from halfwits) even If I have to spend £150 to get them??

If the lenses that were in needed a rubber mallet to get the out, do I need the strenght of a bear and the flexibility of Mr Tickle to get any lense back in?

Please help!!!

I had murder getting mine in and was covered
in adhesive by the time I managed it . It may
sound obvious but undo the screw part with the
bulb in it to make it as narrow as possible then
you just need to feed them right up to the top
of the inner wing so you can twist it round to
line it up. Not much help I know it really is trial
and error. I had trouble fixing one of mine in place
as when I removed the old one a large piece of
fibreglass that was part of the wing came with it
leaving me little to bond the new one too.
Good luck.
