Can't wait to see what he decides to do next year.

Pay £40M to go to Williams?

I hope it works out for him, although of late I've come to conclude that Button hasn't got what it takes to challenge Alonso, Raikonnen and Schuey for the title. For races, on the right day, he'll win some soon.

Anyone else read September's Business F1 magazine? Big feature "The continuing fiasco of a career called Jenson Button". Button's father - who between the lines reads like he has a bad case of 'pushy dad syndrome' - is something of a liability.

The keenness to stay at BAR Honda has a lot to do with the money - Honda has offered $100M for a five year contract. Summed up by Williams as "a team that has never won a race offering a deal to a driver who has never won a race. They need to join the real world."

The Williams deal was for much less money, at a time when Button professed to be more interested in racing. The Williams contract was hopelessly one-sided in favour of Williams - Button's brain and advisors must have been 'out that day'.

It's a sad story is Jenson's career, and that's a fact. A succession of dreadful management - on one occasion an appointment was made because John Button met the bloke in a bar and thought he seemed alright (I jest not) - has cost Button $65M, according to a paddock pundit.

I read that it was $88m for five years. That's by the by, however. Williams' summary seems spot on. To me it looks like BAR have gone back to the pre-Richards days of doing a lot of talking and little racing. Button acts like a new Villenueve yet hasn't even got a win to his name, nevermind a title.

From the Holy Moly.co.uk cnuts corner:

"Jenson Button The only Brit on the circuit apart from Coulthard, won't stop talking about how he's gonna be world champion, blames his team for every little mistake and yet has never once won a cnuting race. Five f@cking years Jenson! Get a first place and stop bitching that you're being held back you conceited cnut."

I agree with most of the comments made so far; I'd really like to see Jenson win things, but I don't think he's world champion material at the moment. He is however great fun to watch drive when he's properly caning it. Can pull off some very calculated and professional overtakes and hang with the best of them.
