OPC Fitting Costs for PSE
Discussion
Hmmmm, looks like I may lose the electronics - sorry neighbours! I assume that you can have the electronics fitted at a later date?
Is it better to purchase the PSE through an OPC or can you get it cheaper from independant part specialist?
What everyone's opinion on putting four oval tailpipes onto a 996 Carerra 2 - could I be accused of being a *chav* by the purists?

Got mine from my OPC, but I have heard you can get them for less folding at Design911. If its a 3.4 you will need to retain the existing top mounts, the new ones provided have a bolt hole in a different location.
Twin pipes sounds OK to me, I prefer large ovals personally.
Enjoy, give us a post when fitted and let us know your opinions.

Is the PSE the best one, or are there better ones on design911 ? I feel like a kid in a sweet shop looking at that site
Just installed PSE on my 3.4, from Design911...thing that concerned me was the possibility of resonance at certain rev ranges on non Porsche ones; you just know that Porsche will have tested there one propoerly, is TUV approved, blah, blah.... I've seen the resonance thing mentioned a couple of times on the RennList forums. Yes the Fabspeeds, etc are a few quid cheaper, but at the end of the day, the OE PSE will make a car more saleable, if not more valuable. Plus, I think insurance companies don't mind the OE one so much, as they categorically state it doesnt increase bhp....just my 2p worth...

This is what I was quoted by an OPC to fit the pSE plus switch
Switch - £22.48
Exhaust - £1,198.93
Labour - 8.5 hrs @ £116.32 per hr = £988.72
Total Cost - £2,210.13!!
Cheers for the heads up - wont be doing the OPC thing then. Contacted Ninemeister and they are getting me a quote, will let you know the outcome!

6-7 hours of that will no doubt be for the switch. It's one of those features you think will really come in handy and is a must have.......when it comes down to it will very rarely be used.
There was no resonance on mine at all so motorway driving was never an issue with it.
If you do go for the switch remember to get the "auto cutout" taken off otherwise your exhaust will automatically go into "quiet mode" between about 20 and 40 mph.
