Thermal Barrier Paints
Discussion
Having read the Heater Controls thread and watched it digress to insulation schemes. I thought I would post a new topic as it seems of interest. A friend of mine is a partner in a company called Wessex Inc. that develops thermal barrier coatings, based in the town where I live. I could go on and on about how impressive this coating is, but instead will say it was created by NASA for the space shuttle tiles and is simply amazing, not to mention light and inexpensive. Below are three links to convince yourself that foam and various wrap insulations are soon a thing of the past. I know I'm going to use it when I start my build.
Technical paper
Wessex Inc. (developer) includes suppliers in the Contact Us section.
An article about one of the suppliers that's (not so) coincidentally based in the racing capital of the US
Edited to remove ignorance and actually include the links
