Adhesive removal after Van livery removal

Hi

I have managed to remove all of my vans decal with a hot air gun, but it has left a real Bas%àrd of a residue that only napalm can get it off.

I have tried WD40, acetone, toffee wheel....but boy its hard work.

Any help please before i go mad!!

I’ll caveat this with the proviso that I’ve never tried it on paintwork, but lighter fluid is often good for getting sticky label residue off things…

Goo Gone is pretty good, especially if you give it time and let it sink in properly, but you might need quite a lot.

Autosmart tardis is very good for this I have removed many vinyl stickers e.g dpd / fedex etc.
off vans with heat gun and the glue still remained not cheap around £16.00 on e bay for a spray bottle full

have a google to see if theres an Autosmart rep near you might be cheaper

Clutch & brake cleaner usually works very well - used it on vans & caravans.
Usually buy it in 5 litre tins.

To date not had any harmful effects on any paint I've used it to remove this sticky stuff from BUT YMMV of course!

If a Toffee wheel is struggling I doubt any tar and glue remover will work.

Just done a Lunar Delta caravan.
Decals came off fine with a heat gun.
The adhesive that remained simply wouldn't shift with anything, panel wipe, clutch & brake cleaner, isopropyl alcohol or thinners. Nothing touched it even though the thinners started to remove the surrounding paint.
Eventually wet sanded it off, just glad I was painting the areas in question!

Whatever you use, try and find a way to leave a rag etc soaked in it against the panel as like a poultice, so it has more time to work rather than just flashing off

Boiling water from a kettle or boiler is what you need. The decal and glue will just peel off with ease and not leave any marks or residue. It's literally a 30 second job.

Autoglym tar remover has always work well on stubborn adhesive for me.
