Hi,

I have 245 40 18 bridgestone potenzas on my car and they have a deep rim protector. I can not tell from details online whether the Turanza has the same rim protector for my sizing.

My wife has the Turanzas on her car but they are not low profile and have zero protection.

Any other brands to look at that offer a decent rim protector- Goodyear, Dunlop Sport Maxx? Potenza are 30 quid a tyre more than other decent brands hence the consideration...

Pic of what I have

I have never really put much store in rim protectors or tyres personally.

The rim protector is obviously made of rubber, which is much softer than alloy or kerb stones, so all that normally happens unless the contact is the gentlest possible is the rim protector gets pinched between the rim & kerb stone so you get a kerbed alloy & a chunk taken out of the rim protector & need to change the tyre also.

I see your point but any protection is better than no protection i my eyes. My alloys are unmarked and I'd like this keep it that way!

goodyear seem to have good rim protection, although as above not sure on the actual benefit...
