Right, I'm a pi**ed off Sky customer who wants to upgrade to Sky Plus, but being a home owning, car running, gadget loving semi nerd I struggle to justify the £250 Sky want for me to upgrade to Sky+ :smash: :ranting:

However.... They are doing an introduce a friend to Sky deal and I can get Sky Plus at a cheaper rate. So who wants to be my friend for a few days?! I think you get something out of it as well!!

The website blurb says...

"Introduce a friend to all the great programming on Sky digital and when they subscribe to any package, you can choose either a Free Sky+ box* or £50 worth of Marks and Spencer vouchers.

Sky will give your friend a great deal too. In fact right now, they will enjoy 1 month's subscription half price, as well as free standard installation of their free Sky box or Sky+ box (£89 online)"

Come on help a fellow PH'er out!!

I don't know, but if I don't want to pay up front, my monthly repayments go upto to over £40 a month, which means they get more over the 12 months...

Grrr....

My buddy works at Sky and they have friends and family discounts, but they are only for new customers!! Plus if you cancel the account and re-register, they keep your records for 5 years!!

Tell them you want to cancel your service.

If they say 'fine whatever', just get cable or a freeview box and buy a Tivo from Ebay.

If they say 'omg stay and receive discount!' then alls well that ends well.

I tried, I pulled out all the tricks... The cold heartless wench on the other end of the phone was having nothing of it. I even went as far as taking 2 channels packs off my current account, now £19 a month from a £21 a month.

Take that Murdoch!!

I was on sky and wanted to upgrade to sky+ so rang them up and had them go through all the options, then said "thanks but its still too expensive, ill leave it for the moment"

he said "oh hang on we might have some ex demo machines around ill have a look for you. here we are £99 for the box and free insillation" (they have to run another cable to the dish and change something on the dish)

Might be worth a try they "might" have some ex demo ones lying around. They probably do it so they can get get you on the higher sky+ subscription

I tried all my tricks, all the ones I've used to get better mobile phone / car / electronic deals over the years. She refused to budge
