I think I know the answer to this but wondered if anyone else has had the same issue...

I've recently put an advert up and straight away I've had multiple responses all from gmail accounts with "Hi, I'm interested, is it still available"

I replied yes out of interest to see what they would do next and all coming back with similar responses like "am I speaking with original owner" or the likes. All which feel like AI resonses or certainly not normal anyway.

Is it a known issue on here as couldn't find anything when I searched.

Thanks
Dave

Just tested the water ther by replying to another one and reply came back almost instantly so clearly AI. So annoying!

Yup, just renewed the ad for one of my cars and within a couple of days, about 6 or 7 responses mostly "still available".. A couple continued with further questions but then asked for VIn No or something.
Same problem with C&C.

Hopeless. May either give up or go to a proper auction. Even internet auction companies aren't free of scammers and idiot "changed my mind" bidders.

Yep. Very common sadly.

I have given up telling them to fk off and are now having fun. One of them is currently waiting for a cheque he posted to arrive.

Problem is he sent it to F. West. 25 Cromwell Street…

hehe

Very much related to this thread - https://www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?h=0&...

I'm getting similar questions, all from @gmail.com addresses.

If you suspect it of being AI, try replying to their message with an asterisk, apparently it can screw a lot of them up as they don’t know how to handle it.
