I would very much like a go in it. I don't actually find a normal F40 that appealing in the 'dream car' stakes but for some reason dropping a V12 from a 550 in really does it for me.

Interesting car with a good history, I can imagine that everyone would think it was a replica though laugh

I'm the opposite, the F40 is the only supercar I have any [unrealistic] desire to own. The rest do nothing for me at all.

Interesting concept, i've also never been a fan of the F40 - oddly however replacing the boring-sounding V8 with an N/A V12 does little to engender the car to me, i'd just rather do the job properly and get an F50. I remember first going as a passenger in an F40, the performance and driving dynamics certainly stood out, but what lasted the longest from that drive for me were the laughs when I got told how much the owner had paid for something that looked to have inferior build quality to that of a Caterham 7. Anyone else think if you replaced the Ferrari badges on these with something like Lotus badges that the value would drop by more than half overnight?

Bodykit makes it look like a kit car.

If they had kept the original lines of the car, then I imagine there would be a lot of interest.

This just looks gash!

I might prefer it tweeked in the looks department very slightly but it’s far from ‘gash’. I’d love a blast round Combe in it!

Well , if Mauro Baldi ,who raced it in the Vallelunga 6 hours , according to the attached story ,prefers it to the original twin turbo V8 then that's a decent validation of it .

Doesn't look like a replica to me ,just a modded car , not an MR2 based horror show

8/10 .

Given the dubious quality of most replicas I wouldn't think so, this looks like a very well sorted car. Hell of a track toy for someone with deep enough pockets.

Throught a big part of the fun of the f40 was the explosive on
boost power delivery from the turbo

I like that. It reminds me of the Taisan Star Card F40 that they entered in the JGTC series in the early 90's.

yep, looks great to me. obviously i havent driven either an F40 or an F50 cos i'm not made of money, but for me, this would be the perfect combination - the looks of the F40, with the engine from the F50.

and actually this is even cooler than a standard F40 cos this is a racecar, with proper wing, splitters, stupidly wide wheels and the like. probably be an absolute screamer round a circuit.
