Hi,

Looking for some on advise on the below.

When we got our first mortgage the provider recommended we take out a policy for unemployment which we did.

After approx. 5 years we swapped mortgage provider and I called up the insurance policy provider and asked if I was still covered. They said yes.

Roll on about 10 years and I received a letter stating some policy changes. One of them being that they would now cover other mortgage providers not just our first provider!

Just wondering if there is any way of getting some of the historic premiums back in this if I’ve never actually been covered?

Many thanks for any advice. I’m looking to change provider as this hasn’t filled me with much confidence. In hindsight I should have done more reading to the terms but just took the providers answer as gospel.

Why would they still be covering your FIRST provider?

Are they not referring to cases where you have more than one concurrent charge against the property?
