Underrated villains
Discussion
saw an article earlier about underrated villains in the cinema which I thought would be an interesting thread. We all know about, for instance, the 'blockbuster' bad guys Darth Vader or Palpatine. what about the less popular/common bad guys?
I'll start with:
Lo-Pan from Big Trouble in Little China
The (Rutger Hauer) Hitcher

Harry Lloyd in Dr Who. He must have been late teens when he was in the Familiy of Blood episode.
He was utterly brilliant in it. He exuded menace.

Are there many characters you'd wish to get it more than this guy.
Complete psychopath. Awful, corrupt. Compelling.
This is from... Mathilda.
I'm pretty sure EVERYONE agrees on this one.

Stansfield is unhinged. Much like
Terry Walsh
Twin Town
The epitome of arrogant, corrupt copper.

Stansfield was a wonderful villain, but not underrated I think. Everyone knows of Leon.Leon

I'll nominate the Sheriff of Nottingham, played by the late great Alan Rickman. He chewed up the scenery so completely you can even see him knocking parts of it over in a couple of scenes
