Guys,

I'm looking at purchasing a S1 elise for weekend / trackday etc

Is this time of year a good time to buy? I expect I would still be able to get out in it a few weekends during the winter but it might be laid up quite a bit?

Also, spec C servicing seems to be very high variability across dealers ~£400 difference in some cases!

Cheers

The market for cars is starting to slow down as we approach Winter, yes; especially for cars such as the Elise. I doubt prices have reflected that yet though.

I live in the South of England, and I used my Caterham all year round (I owned it for four years), and my two friends with Elises use their Elises all year round as well. Winter has some glorious clear, dry days - all you need is a woolly hat and you can have just as much fun as you would do in summer! Trackdays can be cheaper too :-)

It's a good time to buy now. It's been a buyers market for a long long time. There are good cars out there at keen prices so be picky.

I pay the following for my servicing:

A service £100
B service £195
C service £345
Geo £75

All of the above at Horizon Motorsport.
