Anyone ever thought of organising a hop onto a ferry or into the Chunnel for a Pie in France?

Perhaps next year to celebrate the 5th year we could do a Pie On The Beach away day

Just done the Normandy Beaches - great fun but a long way for a day - Pie on the Calais beach may be more like it!

"Pie Sur La Beach"

Always a possibility. People would need more notice of course and we'd need to stitch up one of those ultra-cheap ferry companies - and get everyone to book well in advance so that we filled it.

Could be done...and would be quite a laugh.

Long day, though.

Would the costs increase massively if you went to Cherbourg instead of Calais, only an hour down the coast to the likes or Arromanche (sp) from there, then all the usual 'shopping opportunities' on the way back...

Just a thought

Hmmmmn. I just did a Price Check with Speed Ferries. A day trip would be £58. I tried September 10th 2006. It wouldn't let me do the less than 25hour option for some reason - which should have brought the price down even further.

Dover-Boulogne route.

Do you think people are up for £60 on top of fuel and other costs?

If you are going away for a week or a fortnight, you go with Speed Ferries, if you want a day trip, you go with the regular companies for a tenner return. Go figure

Return trip, Speed Ferries, anytime, anyday, anywhere £58.

Everyone else:

1 day £10
2 days £20
3 days £30
1 week £12,570
2 weeks £2,768,495

Sorry, I think I'm missing something here. £2 million for a 2 week return. ? Unlikely ?

Hi

Myself and the bird have just come back from France. We took the really fast ferry (sea cat) from Poole to Cherbourg. It cost £250 return inc club classs lounge. We went to Brittany only 2 hours away and stayed at Cancale (home of the famous oyster beds) and then stayed at Normandy 2 days later.
