Hi Guys,
I am getting a very bad mechanical knocking noise, when turning left and also when im going over 60mph.

Its been checked over but the TVR garage are starting to scratch their heads. Its not prop shaft, gearbox, engine or drive shafts?

Anyone had a similar problem?

doesnt do it whilst ticking over, its only when the car is moving.

cheers

Dan

ohhh finally a proper problem rather than handbag throwing.

What is the knocking noise in time with.
Does it go when you touch the brake
Does it go when you take the car out of gear

Exhaust knocking against the chassis?

I had this and it only manifested itself when turning sharp left (or going around roundabouts in France ).

Might be worth trying to realign/tighten the exhaust mounts.

Do you still have cats? It could be those knocking on the chassis.

Also does it knock when you coast? If it does then its rear of the gearbox.

exhaust mounts
PAS fluid level
worn CV joints
engine oil...yes, engine oil.(although this can be more of a moaning noise)

I had this too... every time I turned left. Mine turned out to be the exhaust manifold rubbing on the chassis.
Andy at APM shifted the engine over a fraction and its now cured.

Could be the exhaust expanding when hot and catching on the rear heat shield?
