Mostly baldy, here.

I've made do with a conventional Wahl shaver for too long. Takes ages to make sure it's all cut evenly.

I'm thinking of buying a skull-shaver.

Any makes/models to go for/avoid?

Thanks.

I started looking at skull shaver then thought why not try a cheap knock-off on ebay invariably made in China. So I tried one for about £25 since the skull one recommended changing the blades every six months at a cost of £20 (I'm sure you don't need to do that).

The cheap knockoff only lasted a year. Just bits started to break until it was unusable. So now I tried a Remmington. Halfway house between cheap knock off and skull shaver. So far it is working very well and have used for just over a year now and it still works like new.

Wife bought me one for Christmas think its "Skullshaver" I use it every other day, have noticed the blades are starting to be a bit blunt so probably needs a new head. 7 months use.

Previous to that, used disposable razors (4 or 5 blade) everyday.

I've been using one of these for a few years now, get's it a lot shorter than the standard clipper I was using before. I have been tempted by a skull-shaver type thing but not found much compelling reason to change yet.

I bought one of these a few months ago and it’s been great.

https://uk.remington-europe.com/ultimate-series-rx...

Use every two days as per the instructions and it gives a nice close cut. I combine it with some hydration lotion and moisturiser from Bald Bros

https://store.thebaldbrothers.com/

And for when it’s sunny SPF from here

https://bldbro.com/

Edit to add - my shaver is same as Leef44 linked to above.

I use a DE safety razor every other day. Once you have the knack, it is a quick process.

One thing though with the head shaver, you do need to rinse it after each use to stop the blades from clotting up and going blunt or blocking up completely which burns the motor out. That's what I found out with the knock-off one.

I continue with the rinsing routine (remove head and wash separately then allow to dry thoroughly) for the Remmington.

Remington RX7 for me. Not quite as close a shave as a razor but alot less blood for me! Never got the hang of razor blades on the head.

Interesting to see some bald head specific lotions and potions. Just been using a face creme post head shave but will check those out.
