Steering column adjuster

How do you undo the standrd steering column adjuster?
Tried doing a forum search but nothing found.

Mine just unscrews, i just bought a new shiny silver one off e-bay...

It's threaded, so you just unscrew it.

When you say Undo, do you mean to unscrew it for replacement or unlock to adjust the column?

I mean to remove it. I tried unscrewing it with just my bare hands but i couldn't shift it so i thought i better ask the experts before i set about it with a pair of grips

use some of that grippy matting you can get to stop things sliding around on rep's dashboards....

Unscrew... pick up Leven replacement item... screw in.

Job done.

Leven replacement not only mmm.. shiny but much shorter, so doesn't bash your knee every time you drive!

Yep it is originally on with loctite

I wasnt disputing that, just that this gear is as good quality as the Leven stuff and its got a nice shiny logo on it as well...

beware, when i tried fitting my steering column adjuster, (from the same source),i had to replace the threaded stud with a longer one as it doesn't match the original. If yours is the same you will find that when screwed fully in it is further in than the original which results in the rubber shroud not fitting properly.
