Lotus Esprits in Raleigh NC Area

I am new to the board and am wanting to know if there is someone with an Esprit in the Raleigh NC area. If you'd be willing I'd like to come by and take a look and learn from you, I'm looking to purchase an S4 sometime soon and would like to look at one not under pressure to buy. If you'd ride me around that'd be even better. If you are into replicas I'm building a accurate GT40 and you'd be welcome to come by and take a look. Wake isn't too far, would you like to meet sometime? I actually live in Apex NC, so about a 40 minute drive from you. I'd love to come up and see your car, I know the functionality and build is similar so it would do me a starting point for my search. Who knows, might just have to have the V8 too.

Are you around this weekend at all and are you free? You are welcome to come down to visit or I'd love to come there, either way. The 40 is about 1/4 way finished and is interesting to see as well, basically a tube frame semi-mono track car for the street. Full rose jointed suspension, light weight, and lots of power. There is guy right in Apex that is quite familiar with Esprit's. From what I understand he is a pretty good wrencher. He has a G car and not an S car. Adam has his number and you guys might all want to get together and do some club action. From what I understand There maybe somewhere around 14 of you in the state and a lot of other Lotus models there. If you cound all the other Lotus models there are as many as 20-30 something of you.

NC Lotus folks,

on March 19th Pete I and I will be working on our 1990 SEs if anyone would like to join us. We'll be doing a lot of stuff including 2 ZEX nitrous installations, fabricating an exhaust, and possible turbo upgrade if we get it in time. Also on the agenda is fixing of window motors but that is much less fun and takes second place to other work. Anyone is welcome to come by, talk Lotus, watch, drink beer, pick up a wrench, etc. I'll be scheduling dyno time at a shop about 30 mins from Apex (8 miles south of Raleigh) and if we get a few people I'm sure we can get a nice price break. The dyno stuff will probably be Sat morning cause getting the stuff done we wish I'm sure will take a lot of time.

I think one fellow with a G car will be over, another with a Pantera, Jeff you and Peter would be more than welcome too as I'd love to meet other Lotus/car folks in the area. Post here or email me if interested. Take care,

I didn't know there WERE more Esprit owners in North Carolina .

I live in Catawba, about 10 miles outside of Mooresville. I have a business in Claremont right off of I-40 between Hickory and Statesville.

Recently, I sold my 93.5 Esprit and swapped it for a Vette, however my 97 V8 should be arriving on the 22nd.

It'd be great if there are enough of us to put together a small regional lotus group .. !

I have never monitored this web board before, I receive the TurboEsprit yahoogroup messages in email format continuously.

I have been over here on this forum for a while.
I still lurk on the other one from time to time but hardly ever post. I do however do private email chattter with with the old timmers from the turbo list but it got really large, with a few people with multiple sign ons and it got a little weird for me with some people posting things that applied to others cars.

I sent email to Peter with the V8 to see if he wanted to come over, if he comes then you might want to visit as well since we'll likely have at least 3 Lotus' there, probably the most ever assembled in NC at one time!

Thank you I will most certianly try to make an attempt to go. This is next weekend right? I'm going to the ATL auto show this weekend to see the new Elise. Chris from Lotus ATL has confirmed a blue elise will be there. I may also go by his store to view some of the V8's they have in stock.

I'd be coming over from Asheville (4-5 hours depending on traffic) so 7 would be late for me. I was at the ATL auto show yesterday and got to see the Elise and Esprit. I sat in the Elise it is seems like an amazing steed. I still want a V8 Esprit though.....just need to experience one in person before I buy it.

I work in Charlotte, but live in SC. I know some of the guys in the GA lotus area, and I'm big into Lotus/Ferrari. Owned 1 esprit so far, but had other things.

Would love to see the GT40, as I have considered doing a build several times.
