Urgent Help - Cooper Green paint match

Has anyone had any problems with a paint match on Cooper Green, I have a 92 Griff with original paintwork, the code is P422-2382B.
The TVR bodyshop has now had 3 mixes made up which are consistantly darker and as they are solvent based they are not able to tint, as they use water base paint.
Has anyone had this trouble or could the paint have faded.
I have had the door painted but it comes out considerably darker from a distance.
They are wanting to re paint the door tomorrow so any help would be great.

Maybe your car has been sprayed before, the wrong colour. Some bodyshops will match colour by sight. I imagine it's difficult to do, but that might be the solution.

The TVR bodyshop said that this is the original factory finish, as when they rubbed the panels down the car has had no previous paint. Bit strange but will get round it somehow.

Don't rely on a low volume hand-built manufacturer to get the mix right every time.

Our bodyshop had a Fezza recently where the factory had painted it a slightly different shade.

Depends on what companyh is doing the mixing. There are a number of different comanies and in my experience I have found that some do not match. I had a formulation for Cooper Green that matched my S3, but I'm not sure where it is. I'll have a hunt around and get back to you. I may have it on my computer somewhere, but I did see it on a scrap of paper a month or so ago. I don't recall throwing it away.

922 - 370.1
987 - 380.9
937 - 387.8
986 - 3.97.5
902 - 434.8
948 - 500.4 (I think can't quite read the writing)
500 - 979.2

That should mean somthing to the paint mixer. The big problem is that some of the tones that were used in the original paint are no longer available, so the vairous companies just went for the best match.

You'll also have to take into account paint fade on a 13 year old car.

When mine had a pretty much full respray a coupleof years ago they colour code didnt match the colour on the car,slightly different shade, TVR Bodyshop managed to get a mix somehow that matched the rest ok though...

I am just off to work now, but I have some intresting findings which I will post later.

Firstly thanks to all, but no luck with the colour match.
The TVR bodyshop have now made up three lots of paint which dont match. They have also spoken to Blackpool who supplied the original blend prior to re formulating the paint (still no match). The car has original paint from 1992 which sadly now has to be blended into the rear panel. The paint is quite different.
The original paint may have faded, but the shuts etc are consistent with the exterior.
Well now onto the next job, new rear window tomorrow and new carpets have arrived today from Coverdale (fantastic quality)
