Haven't got oil temp, water is usually about 85-90C. My oil pressure starts off at about 5 when stone cold, gradually dropping to between 1.5 and 5 depending on revs. It seems a little high to me, but Googling seems to say high is fairly normal, low is bad!

With oil temp at 90 deg., electronic oil level should be one notch below top.

Hmm thats how my GT3 read just after I picked it up from an OPC oil change. I thought they'd short changed me. Why is it calibrated one notch below when at the correct temp to take the reading given the engine has to be running on GT3s anyway due to the sump.

So you can see if it's overfilled?

Dan,

I'm not sure that I understand your question.
If it is, Why should the target reading be one notch below top?, I think the answer is:
That way you can monitor it and if you overfilled a bit it would edge up to the top level. If you were aiming for the absolute top level and overfilled, there's more of a risk that, without knowing it, you would have gone substantially over max, which as you know could cause a messy problem.
