ultima southern get together

How about before winter comes we do a pub meet and run from the windsor area. There are so many good ultimas around and we should get together. I thought of windsor as it helps the m40 corridor brigage and the M3 and m25 ringrage! Any ideas welcomes

Virginia Waters is a common meet point in that sort of area. If you also post it as an open meet in the Events forum we can share the day or evening with a number of other like minded petrolheads.

Plenty of parking and easy to find.
ditto, bluesatin and I have been there a number of times.

I'll be number 6, but if it's at Virginia Water, make sure there are no road works at J13 of the M25. I missed the last evening get together because it took 2 hours to get off the b****y motorway! (but on the plus side it was a good test for the cooling system (steady 90 degrees), clutch, air conditioning etc)

That was not the M25's or J13's fault. There was a pile-up which closed the M3 so the A30 then became the next best route for many drivers.

You missed a pleasent evening.

OK, so when and where? I organised a meet at the Grasshopper(A25, Kent /Surrey border) last year which was well attended, but ditto and myself would like to get out of second gear, so would prefer somewhere a bit further away! Virginia Waters is fine but remember the £4 entry fee and the early gate closure if the meet is an evening one. Let's have some more suggestions!

Well. I would suggest a weekend, probably a Sunday would suit most.

It's starting to get dark early these days to have an evening meet.

I don't mind where though!

ok guys now about Sunday 9th October at the brooklands motor musuem carpark weybridge 11.00am. No car park charges and I can tour you guys for a nice route down to boxhill then A24 dorking to newlands corner( great burgers) Then blast everyone back up the A3 back to weybridge.

If you go to Boxhill, avoid the "zig-zag" road from the Burford Bridge Hotel to the famous viewpoint as there are half a dozen speedbumps on this road which could catch your front splitters. Bear in mind too that Boxhill on Sundays is a mecca for Bikers and on a fine day there could be several hundred at the Burford Bridge car park. Great to see but the boys in blue are always out in force, so keep your eyes open.
