Hoooorah (or eek!)....i bought a 964!
Discussion
...so its a good job i put aside a few K for nasties!
Yes...a slate grey 964 off a top chap in Northampton. Its pending an inspection by Porsche Silverstone tomorrow morning.
Very clean car throughout with very nice full leather/suede dashboard, door and interior lining + aircon + computer + other bits.
Should be a different drive to my Boxster S (hint hint also for sale on here somewhere!)...looking forward to scaring the neighbours kids.
Whens the next track day!

I've driven both but you'll quickly find out the differences for yourself. Basically, the S handles better and is more modern but the build of the 964 is better and it has more character.
The 964 is a great car, not more fun than a Boxster S, just diferent. You are also allowed to drink real ale at Porsche meets rather than anything with a straw in it.

Cheers guys
Well i will know the outcome of the Silverstone Porsche inspection soon so it will be interesting.
Was very tempted to do an almost straight swap for a 993 but business sense prevailed! Had to put 6k into a new business in highend hifi.
Will post my comments later on the drive...what got me is just the lovely MAN noise..or rather BEAST!

Rich, talk 964s, not hifi. I am reformed , I have not bought a new power supply or 'snake oil' interconnects for over two years. Upgraditus has been purged from my being.

Oh dear matey...you weren't into Naim were you..once they get you they make you think that they are the only brand to have
. You're then trapped in the constant world of new power supplies and cables....oh dear! Nah I trade on ebay (highend imports from Japan) and am importing a rather special cd player soon.
Cars and hifi...the chase of perfection is still strong in this one my lord *cue darth vader breathing noises*

964 ownership, in my experience, is definitely HURRAH rather than EEK!
A world of depreciation-free motoring, incredible bang for the buck in performance and handling terms too. The noise is something that 'modern' cars can't get close too - even the 993's are softly spoken in comparison.
Enjoy the car - but watch out for the 'mods' bug!! If you're not careful, you'll spend ££££ on suspension, wheels, brakes etc upgrades which don't overly enhance the original experience.

I've never really thought much about cars, except that they must get you from A to B as safely and quickly as possible, but now I have a new boss who loves his Porsche 911, and I have to admit that it is pretty stunning! He has made me think differently about what I drive! Will not be telling anyone what it is!!! Enjoy the 964, and remember - if someone did not show an interest in you before you got it, then they aint worth knowing now!!
