Nikki has owned her ‘69 Pagoda for 24 years, it’s one of the family. She uses it all year round and it’s even seen a track or two.

Bought from a dealer back in 2000, she drove the car for twelve years before mounting issues forced a ground up restoration.

The start of a long road.

An original colour DB906, or grey blue

I’m condensing about five years of restoration within these shots.

The deal was work on it until the money runs out. It was astonishing how quickly that happened.

The shakedown run.

The car’s used for many events and weekends away. It won a concours event back in 2022.

Then in ‘23 came the 60th anniversary of the model introduction , the 60th of the only ever rally win, but also the 60th birthday of Nikki who owns the car. To celebrate all of this I researched and dressed the car up in period decals, wide tyres and period alloys and spotlights with a few other trinkets in the cab to give it the motorsport feel.

Awaiting her turn on track at Donington.

Leading out a dozen other Pagodas at MB World Brooklands Circuit.

In the middle of the pack at Silverstone.

A random selection of shots that were used for a few promotions.

And finally the lady and her Pagoda.

Beautiful restoration and a true classic Mercedes; Best of all, you are having fun with it and it has history. I love the Pagoda cars.

Glorious. With the Pagoda, is the roof fixed?

The roof is still removable, the lady prefers the look of the iconic roof as you see in the pics. The rally car in 1963 did have its roof fixed for better rigidity over the 3500 mile race.

Wonderful - I’m sure I saw it at Donington earlier this year.

Uber cool.
