Unfortunately, I can’t mop to save my life, and most of my house is hard floors.

I’ve tried everything so far, except the Powerglide by Aircraft.

The YouTube reviews give it a thumbs up, but when I looked to see how much they were on Ebay, there are a lot of used, and refurbished ones listed… never a good sign!

We have one....bought from Costco on a 'deal' a couple of years ago.

I would say it works pretty well on our hard floors - tile and laminate.
Don't tend to use anything other than water in it, do it last thing at night and in the morning the floor looks pretty good.

I’ve tried every other option.

How "can't you mop"??? Surely is just a case of dipping the mop in water + cleaning fluid, then swishing it all over the floor, no??

If you have tiles then there are some really good cleaners, far beyond what you get in Wilkos (RIP), or similar. This stuff is fantastic for tiles, it works like brick acid and removes a very thin layer, but will bring almost any tiled floor back to new. No scrubbing required, simply swill over the floor, brush in and leave to work for half an hour.

It’s vinyl tiles, as a single man, I mistakenly got light stone tiles in my kitchen.

Trust me, dipping a mop in cleaning fluid the pushing it around just doesn’t work, I’ve even tried with a clean bucket and a dirty bucket.

I’ve had a powered hard floor mop, one of these mops with the spray bottle on it, a Flash Speed Mop… they all leave marks here and there.

Darker floors are no problem.

We have one and it seems to leave the floors looking clean. If you get down and wipe with a baby wipes after cleaning it tells a different story but this has been the same with all the different mop type products we've tried. It's difficult with LVT as anything gentle enough on the floor isn't great at lifting the dirt. We tend to use it as a maintenance cleaner but every so often it needs backed up with getting down on hands and knees and scrubbing.

I'm now a caretaker and was given lessons in mopping. This method is fault proof.
Sweep floor
Buy a mop like you see professional cleaners use, white and woolly and a mop bucket with a wringing out bit big enough for the mop.
Soak mop in cleaning solution, make sure it's low foam and wring out leaving the mop wet but not dripping. Mop over the floor leaving it wet.
Now agitate the mop in the cleaning solution and wring the fk out of it so it's merely damp, now mop up the solution already on the floor up using side to side motions in front of you slowly moving backwards repeat this step if necessary.

Throw all gimmicky crap in the bin, eg Vileda mop and buckets.

When you get good at it you can skip the sweeping up bit and sweep whilst mopping.

Using this method I cleaned the floor after a beer festival which was 'a right bloody mess'

Why not one of those floor steamer mop things?

I messed around with different mops for LVT floors but ended up buying this.

https://amzn.eu/d/iUCR9y3

Leaves the floors sparkling and dries pretty much instantly, takes all the effort out of it and even cleans itself. I hoover first but it still seems to pick up so much dog hair, and the dirty water tank makes you feel like you’ve been living outside 🤢

We have a Vax version of the thing linked above and it’s great. Wouldn’t dream of going back to a manual mop.

We have one and the wife loves it. It does a good job but for the money I don't think it's that well built. Feels a bit flimsy at times and we managed to break one of the pad holders. Was easy enough to buy a spare.

Have you thought about a robot mop? Got one in the prime day sales and it's absolutely brilliant.

I've got a fair bit of hard floor and use a shark steam mop. It definitely gets things clean and doesn't leave any streaks.

I'm not sure you are supposed to use a steam cleaner if you have amtico / karndean? Could be wrong on that one

I’ve used it continually on them with no issues, but you aren’t meant to. Just a Vax type thing, nothing heavy duty. Use it on LVT and laminates.

This a simple mop and bucket is the way, i used to own a garage, and it was the first thing the new apprentice was taught, and that was on a painted floor with oil and everything, its the best way, sometimes the old ways just work, hot water helps.
