MK7 Fiesta - Aircon/cooling issue

Morning all.

Our MK7 Fiesta has developed an issue of overheating at the moment which also incudes an issue with the aircon being intermittently ineffective.

Are the two systems intertwined with one affecting the other?? I've a suspicion the cooling fan isn't kicking in.

The ECU will close the aircon down if the car is overheating. There is no direct link between the two systems in terms of them using the same fluid etc

That was my understanding from being involved years ago. Separate systems.

The cooling fan that you're suspecting is the biggest link!

No airflow over the condenser or radiator = no ac, overheated engine...

Does the fan ever come on? Does the fan sound like a hovercraft when it's overheating?
