Yes but how did you get your name?
i presume you are asking me ?
I play rugby and missed a large part of a season when I had just Joins Vandals RFC, first crashing my cbr, then pull hip flexor, then shin splints, then repeted broken ribs, So someone nicknamed me Tampon, because I was in for one then out for three.
It has just stuck and I tend to just introduce myself as tamps now, as thats what most of my mates call me.
90% of the interesting facts posted in this thread will be utter boswellox.
I can't be bothered to search www.snopes.com but most will turn up there...

Sorry Tamps, didnt meanto be disrespectful,"in for one out for three"
thats brilliant! i think there's a few players in the football league that nickname could apply to.How about the Spitfires elliptical wing design was jointly developed with Heinkel(!) in the 1930s.
The germans also were very close to buying RR Merlin engines (maybe licence built, cant remember) for their fighters, and in fact the first BF109 prototype was powered by a Rolls-Royce Kestrel
Also on the interesting Aircraft facts, the SR71 was made of titanium bought from the USSR during the height of the cold war.

I did put "interesting" didn't I ?
In days of old when Knights were bold.....the game of tennis was used as a way of improving sword fighting skills.
In the 1976 007 film The Spy Who Loved Me, Roger Moore can be seen pounding at the steering wheel of his Lotus Esprit to sound the horn at the lorry he's trying to overtake, before the baddie on the missile motorbike/sidecar gets him.
The horn push on an Esprit S1 is on the indicator stalk.

I did put "interesting" didn't I ?You did, that's why I didn't bother boring you to tears with my 'interesting' facts about fruit + veg!
Now I wanna know, tell me tell me tell me.
A pineapple is a flower and the flesh that you eat is actually the petals.
Broccoli, was named after a relative (Father / Grand father IIRC) of Albert 'Cubby' Broccoli of James Bond fame. He crossed a Calabrese variety with something else to make Broccoli (and gave it his name).
A Banana 'tree' is in fact a herb.
See? Told you. Raify said:
