Heathrow Parking (longer term)

Hi There,

I'm going away for 3 weeks the flights with stop overs will be best part of 20 hours, I'm not that close to LHR, so public transport isa massive ball ache.

Looking into driving but the parking seems either astronomical or has abysmal reviews.

Anyone got any suggestions of where to look and what to avoid?

See if a local taxi firm does airport runs?

Probably cheaper than any half-decent parking for three weeks.

If you're in London, you might be better off on PT.

If you're further away, I think the usual trick is to get a hotel with parking.

We have a trip in December from LHR and a 4/5 hour drive - bit the bullet and paying the somewhat expensive fee to park at T5 car park. Having to go down night before now (thanks to a change in flight times) so have a Premier Inn booked at Tring so am easy drive in the morning

Three weeks in any Heathrow car park, on or off site, is going to cost a wedge!

Your profile says you're in the London region so I assume you're on the eastern side; Essex / Kent. If that's the case, Crossrail is your best bet.

I'm near Chelmsford. I could get Crossrail from Sheffield and stay on the same train through to LHR but go to Liverpool Street, pick up Crossrail from there and change at Paddington for the Heathrow Express. If I get the timings right, it's about 90 minutes from leaving my house to being airside and a lot cheaper than parking.

Where do you live, and what terminal.?
If you do park make sure it’s the OFFICIAL HEATHROW site, (plenty of cowboys)
I’m getting quotes for 22 days in September, long stay with shuttle bus, £244 T3, £291 T5.Lots of other more expensive options.
Plenty of Hotel deals available, or Check your local taxi man.
Do your sums.
You’re spending shed loads travelling so don’t scrimp on parking your car.

Exactly this.

Get a quote from the official Heathrow site (it can be a lot cheaper if you book quite far in advance).

You can then compare with the alternatives - train, taxi, hotel with parking, coach. Add in the hassle factor for each alternative and then make your decision.

The coach can be a surprisingly good option, but you do need to factor in getting to / from the coach departure point. The one local to me has parking, but there's a 4 day limit. Totally pointless.

Same here, used them loads of times. Normally stay in the Sheraton Heathrow but this time the Radisson Blu came up cheaper for when we go away next month. On the Hoppa route, it's nice to go down a day earlier and have a meal and a few drinks the night before we travel.

It's often on par with normal parking, plus Blue Light card holders get a discount.
