Crit-Air certificate

I'll be travelling around Europe for 3 weeks from next Thursday including France from 13th September. I've totally overlooked a crit-air cert (ordered today) - if it doesn't arrive before I go how big a deal is this? I don't intend going to any large cities so I'm guessing not much?

Not at all, as you've applied you're now registered on the system, just print out a copy of the email confirming the application in case you get stopped.

If you don't have a sticker you will get a fine coming even if it would have been ok to take your vehicle in at that particular time

The French are now installing ANPR cameras at these locations so its not a matter of "getting stopped"

This. As long as you've applied and been processed, you should be all good.

They normally arrive quickly anyway.

Yep, we had the same - you get the email immediately so you can travel without sticker if it doesn't arrive in time

I had a look at the app, poor reviews, particularly as it charges something like £2.50 every time you look up a location, apparently. That seems to be the case from the reviews if I have read them correctly.

I've been using this app for a while. Not quite sure how it would be possible for it to charge me for looking up a location

Just apply now. As others have said.. they arrive pretty promptly (as do the German equivalents)

Oh fk, somehow hadn't heard about this.

My NSX is a 1996, and therefore is ineligible for a Crit'Air.

Now Paris and the other permanent low-emissions zones aren't the end of the world - I can just avoid those cities.
...but the ZPAs - the temporary zones - they seem rather less well defined, and how the **** do you find out when they're being activated?!?
