Easiest route to a shiny rim?

Right then, my OZ multispokes should be back from the refurb'ers in the next week or so....hurrah! So does any one have any top tips for keeping them nive and shiny??
Anything alongs the lines of "Rub your rim with cider vinegar"...that kind of thing? :D

Depends on what type of finish you are having. If you are having them lacquered. Try not to get them chipped and if they do, touch up the chip asap. If polshed and no lacquer, keep them clean. Rub them down with Autos sol regularly and whatever finish you get use a good protective wheel wax.

If you are that way inclined you could also go for the rubber discs that fit behind the wheels that keep off the brake dust. I use these and they are great. Stops all the black residue on the wheels. You just can't see the brakes. I drive hard and have never had a problem with the brakes overheating.

My next door neighbour patented those things

He's made a fortune out of them, big paychecks come from Car Mfr's who stick a cheapo plastic set on every Pre delivered car, he gets about 1p for everyone sold, x 4 per car !!!!!

I need to get some more of the brake dust protectors. Any idea on where i can get them. Tried loads of places and drew a complete blank.

Non lacquered - get some polish off Mike at the Polishing Company (polisher on here) and advertises here. Don 't use the wax it's a bastard to get off (Tried it on the 7 spokes first and it fooked a sponge).

It's shit by the bolts but just bear with it. I haven't seen any as shiny as ours (sure someone will vouch for that).

Admired Flipfops on two occasions and asked how kept so good.... sounds painstaking to me (v lazy)

But they do do look the best IMHO

I am having the wheels done with anthracite centre piece and polished rim. Sounds like there's no option but to get my hose out on a regular basis then?

Imanaged to find a set of the protectors at my local motorfactors, but they were from 1996 or somthing like that. he reckoned he could get some more in, so I'll have a word with him.

Whats the going rate for a decent wheel refurb these days? Mine are liveable but could do with a fettle before next summer, cheers, Simon.
