We are staying in Rimini for the forthcoming Moto GP and wondered if anyone has any recommendations for restaurants , lesser known places to visit etc , must see things etc. All told we have 12 days in the area and aside from the 3 days of the GP itself will be prepared to travel a bit to have a good look around. Thanks

I went there for the WSBK in 2010 to support Leon Haslam. There is no shade inside the circuit and it can get very hot. The catering was also quite expensive. I’d also consider getting a link on your phone to English Speaking Commentary.

San Marino is a good place to visit, old castles, good views etc

Dozza is also pretty cool to have a look at and have lunch at, it's small so you'll be done inside an hour. It's also close to Imola

Also, get a train up to Bologna and spend a day there, good food, leaning tower of Bologna, statue of Neptune etc

Conero and Portonovo are worth a visit as are the staligmite caves, if you go further south Grottemare fortified village is worth a walk around at dusk.
