What are these please?

The two horizontal cylinders with a brake or fuel line going to them?
They're on a 1973 Volvo 1800.
Fuel pump is next to the tank, could these be HP pumps to and from the injection set up?

Brilliant, thanks. Car appears to have two? One for each side? I'd have thought there'd be one for both sides. Maybe dual circuit brakes?
