Elise S1 111s

I'm thinking of removing my radio and speakers. I never turn it on and even if I did I couldn't hear it.

I've seen that you can buy a triple VDO gauge mount to replace the DIN hole left over. At least this would be something useful to fill the hole, especially as I struggle to read the LCD temp and fuel in anything other than bright sunlight. (Old age).

Has anyone done this ?

What 3 gauges would you fit. I'm thinking of mirroring my Caterham set up which has :-

Fuel , Temperature ( switchable water and oil ) and oil pressure.

Thoughts ? The alternative may be to have just individual water and oil temp, as I have the larger aluminium fuel tank and only really bother with fuel level when it says Refill. Is there anything else worth monitoring ?

yes, I've done it with my motorsport Elise project, see pics below
Stack gauges include: fuel, water temp, oil temp, oil pressure, boost gauge (it's Audi turbo) and clock.

Maybe consider this way of doing it. These guages are standard on my S2 Sport 190 - I dont know if they came on any other models.

Thinking of doing this to mine. The stereo is basically useless.
