Which large SUV

Looking at 3 year old SUV for luggage and people capacity( don’t need 7 seats) any opinions on
Cayenne, Q7, X5,GLE, RR , RX 450 etc. petrol or diesel, no plug in hybrid
Or better go A6 or E class estates for space ?

To get useful answers it is worth stating your budget and what you want out of a vehicle. You are not providing much to go on.

The VW Touareg is very highly rated by owners, including me. I wouldn't discount it due to it not having a sexy image.

£45k ish . Space, comfort , reliability . Low as possible depreciation.

Personally I don't see the point of SUV when you can get a Skoda Superb estate and have plenty of room for people and luggage without the unnecessary bulk and associated increased running costs of an SUV.

So form your list, yeah an A6 Avant, E Class, or Superb.

If depreciation is an issue you might want to go for slightly older car to be on a flatter part of the curve.

Avoiding JLR products checks with the reliability and drug dealer boxes.

SUV I would go VW Toureag (I do like the new one) or X90

Otherwise A6 Avant.....

You would easily get a 3 year old RX450 for well under that budget from a Lexus dealer with the balance of a 10 year warranty.

Insurance was an issue last year but I believe Lexus are retro fitting security measures to help.

I would say XC60 with no hesitation, but as with the 90 all the engines you'd want in either are Plug In hybrids which OP ruled out.

Where I live most Cayennes seem to be driven by mothers picking up from the local private school. Unless it’s a front and they’re all dealing H!

I've only got experience with the X5 and the GLE, but I've been really happy with both of them for sure though.

The Range Rover would be my favourite, but I'm not brave enough rightly or wrongly though.

Had a Genesis GV70 in the US.

Looks brilliant, big, comfortable and really well built.

2.5L petrol was spot on if a bit more coarse than the German rivals.
