Two of my little cousins have birthdays very close to each-other and so I'm thinking about buying them a combined present.

The brothers are ages 6 & 8 and love having their picture's taken, so I thought what better than a digital camera?

Does anybody know where I'll be able to buy a camera which will withstand the battering a 6 and 8 year old are likely to give it?

Thanks :)

I used to have a Fuji A202. It a fixed lens jobie and apart from a fairly flimsy battery comparment cover (fixed with selotape), it's withstood so much battering and extreme conditions:

I used to take it into night clubs, then I upgraded to a Canon A70 and past the A202 on to a mate. He took it to Lapland, the Egyptian desert, the Red sea fishing... it's been dropped, knocked about and put into scenario's that it just shouldn't survive (it's been a sandstorm for christ sake) and apart from a damaged button - he pushed too hard, it's worked (and still is) flawlessly!

Don't know but I'd certainly avoid one with a lens that moves in and out as it's sure to get forced and jammed/broken.

(Do you think that one *each* would be better? I'm just thinking of the punch-ups and rows that will ensue as they fight over just one...)
