New to me car with lots of money spent on it including BC racing coilovers

The ones on the rear are top adjustable with a small Allen key and work perfectly

I assume the ones on the front should work the same way, but instead of being a nice Allen head I have this on both sides

I can't work out what's happened - has anyone experienced this before and are they rebuildable ?

That's weird, almost looks like a torx, but knackered. IIRC BC will ship you replacement parts so its worth getting in contact with them

I had messaged them but it said they were busy and may take a while to respond

So started this thread, however, they've responded very quickly

It turns out that whilst my rears are top adjustable and the fronts look like they should be (they didn't say what that was supposed to look like)

It turns out that they're bottom adjustable ! I did look for a little knob on the side but it's an allen key buried right at the bottom !

Mine had a little doobery like this that fits in the top & then adjusts the inner rod IIRC, so yours could be damaged.

Although there are different types, so see what BC say.

ETA.
Are you sure yours aren't the type with remote reservoirs with the adjuster on the reservoir?

Those pictures appear to show some sort of star/spline/torx-like socket designed to stop the shaft rotating so the nut can be tightened and loosened. It looks to me as if it's been rounded out by the key slipping. I doubt that's an adjuster.

I see you've already figured that out.

Looks like a torx plus bit which I never knew existed until a few months ago.
