this is a common thread question, and comes with built in obsolescence. 2 yrs ago L&V did a huge push on porsche, got loads of customers, then hiked prices up hugely at re-quote time. now they are back down again. over 2 years I got quotes of £640, £1150 and now £700 on the same car/details from them.
I'm afraid the only sensible and enduring answer is shop around near the time. at my last renewal norwich union direct and tesco online beat all the specialist brokers by a country mile (well, £60).

Dan, On a classic policy what is the restriction on mileage?

I've been driving for 4yrs and have the same amount of no claims...funnily enough the insurance fully comp for my Boxster S is £892 and the insurance for a 964 is £788.

Thats with directline, driveway cover with rescue and £200 voluntary thingy.

Graham Sykes is whom I use on Classic Policy 5k milage limit. I pay £300 a year on my 1988 2.5 944s.
Iam 25 been driving just 2years 0 no claims.
Give me discount for being in TIPEC.

I found Adrian Flux and A-plan gave me good prices this month within £10 of each other.

I went with A-Plan - fully comp, £350 excess, free hire car if needed, legal insurance, breakdown cover, home start and European cover - all for £470 (and my wife has had an SP30 and an accident claim in the last 3 months). Seemed like a bargain.

(I did get some silly quotes - like £290, but when you look at the extremely high excess and other added factors they actually came out higher in total price.)
