Bolt through tyre - repairable?
Discussion
Quick one for the PH experts before calling round in the morning. Picked up a nice bolt through my tyre coming back from the gym.
Do you think this is repairable? I’m thinking it might be just inside the limit of being the centre belt, but I’m hoping someone can help me with whether I’m going to get shafted for a tyre (or pair if they don’t have the right tyre in stock)

Cheers

Eurgh I knew it wouldn’t be straightforward! Typical hopefully it can be sorted - otherwise it might be a part worn to get me out of a hole then get a matching pair on order. The previous owner fitted JLR spec Pirelli’s to it which bugs me anyway so might be the thinnest of silver linings

I’ve had similar fixed - it was a honking big bolt too - bigger than the one pictured. Vulcanising place put what was basically a big patch on the inside with a plug on it, which was then (obviously) vulcanised. It was quite impressive.
You need to find a proper specialist who doesn’t want to flog you a tyre.

Just to update this called BMW Assist first thing and they came out in 90 minutes, and plugged the hole within 15 minutes. I didn’t realise Assist could do this I just assumed they would tow or provide an emergency wheel to get you to kwikfit or something.
Technician said his plug from outside method is technically temporary and recommended getting it patched from the inside when I get chance (though he had used his plugs on his van and personal cars for years with no issues), so will get it done properly when I book it in for 2 rear tyres in the next few weeks.
Bolt was an undertray screw so likely fell off another car moments before as had gone into the tyre perfectly upright and straight!
