TVR Used Car WARRANTY details

Just received details of the new scheme, and thought people may be interested.
Should, hopefully, increase residuals & make selling used model a bit easier (not that my car happens to be in the classified :hehe:).
The new warranty costs £950 for 1 year, or £1750 for 2 years.
The claim limit is the retail value of the car new & you can make unlimited number of claims.
Prior to the warranty your vehicle must undergo a 100 point check, with takes approx. 3 hours (£250 ish).
The cover includes:

So it actually costs £1150/£1950.
Hardly a bargain. If you put £1150/year into a savings account you should have enough to cover any "warranty" work (unless you're very unlucky), and if it isn't required you still have the money.
Looks very tempting. I will probably take one out come next summer when my beastie is 2 years old.
BMW and Audi charge a similar amount for extended warranties on their bigger engined cars (need to check the small print but from what I'm reading here they offer less wear & tear cover than TVRs warranty too).
I assume I need to buy the warranty through a franchised dealer (who I pay the inspection charge too). One issue - what little things will the dealer find wrong with the car before allowing the warranty to be taken out ... (same for any manufacturer I assume?).

I applaud this from TVR - despite the cost, which seems a little high, it does give the TVR driver something that they have really never had before - PEACE OF MIND. Ok, I admit it, I am an interloper (a 996 owner - sorry guys!!!), but had it not been for the fact that TVR owners themselves told me not to get a TVR due reliability issues, I would have a TVR in the garage as we speak!!
This is the kind of initiative which would make me seriously consider a TVR as it addresses a key question for (lets face it) most buyers which is total cost of ownership! We can all budget (to a certain extent) for the day to day petrol, tyres, servicing, etc., but it is when things go badly wrong that we really get into the unknown (financially).
It has taken TVR too long (IMHO) to realise this, and I still think they have some way to go to address these issues. A good while ago I worked for a breakdown company and spoke to TVR about breakdown cover on their cars and how they should make it a selling feature - the response I got (and this was a LONG time ago) was - "but that is admitting that our cars break down"!
Anyway, I am off the the showroom to check out the warranty - I sincerely hope that they have got this right because if they haven't, this could be an even bigger blow to them (small print exclusions, not explaining cover properly or even poor claims management). What I would really like to see though is a combination of warranty and service in one - i.e Pay £200 a month (or whatever) and we will cover all the siaster as well as all the servicing costs - hmmm, just a thought. Now - Cerbera or Chimaera - choices choices!!

Im sure that there are a number of owners out there with 5 plus year old cars who have fairly recently, as I have, had their engines out/checked and/or rebuilt in recent times and would, IMO, be less of a risk than some higher mileage 2-5 year old cars that could be about to go bang? Shame they dont go on condition (confirmed by a check at a good TVR garage) rather than just age?
