As the title suggests, I put the roof back on the 996 today. I know it's a bit of an Indian summer at present, in Kent anyway, but I leave for a week in Corfu on Monday and chances are it will be pretty awful when I get back.

The BBQ moves from patio to the garage in the place where the hard top stand has been all summer and all the hanging baskets have been removed. So winter is here now and I can't have any more fun till April 2006.

Have you gone back to hard tops yet or when do you plan the transition.

I'll give it another month or so yet. The car lives in the garage at night and the roof is safely stored round my dads house. The Boxster didn't have a hard top and I used it all year round.

Today, I will mostly be going topless

top on already??? thought you 911 boys were tougher than that.
i dont take the tonneau cover off till october and then the top only goes up in a hurricane rita. I usually find if I go fast enough then the airflow over the top of the windscreen keeps me dry.

(....I do look fairly foolish in traffic jams however)

Just wait till the suns been on it for 1/2 hour. As you pull away the creaks and groans tend to fly in the face of refinement.

Time for some silicone spray I guess.

Mine was ceaky last time it was on, but this time it doesn't seem to be happening.... I took a bit longer seating it this time before I nipped it up though. Perhaps worth loosening yours a fraction and giving it a jiffle about?

She's sat in the sun at the moment, so I should know if it's going to stay quiet after lunch.

No creaks at all Thinking about what you said about the silicon though, she has had a good Zymoling since the roof was last on and I always wax the rubber.... I bet that's what stopped it
