Anyone get the feeling their car isn't going to make it ?
Discussion
A couple of people seem to have problems, mainly getting parts.
I've got 3 different coloured calipers on at the moment that Horizon have kindly lent me.
A phone call yesterday "Hi Russ, while your waiting for your speedo to be fixed, we can lend you one to the fill the hole & get your callipers looking better for CREAM"
This morning, on the way there to drop the car off, the rev counter stopped working & the drivers window that had gone down, decided it was going up.
Few minutes later & all started working again.
I've just got this horrible feeling that the car's going to shit on me, to the extent that I've asked them not to do anything that prevents me getting the car back tonight.
The condensation of the roof along with wind speed, ensured I arrived at Horizon, looking like I'd pissed myself.
I've a mental picture of a brake caliper being in a 1000 pieces, like a smashed watch.
I need reassurance :)

hopefully the AA have there own marked off area ...
had the door panel off last night to fix the chuffin anoying rattle .. bad enough round town but a 4hr drive would be murder ...
new leads this week seem to have helped the missfire problem .. 1 of them cracked into bits when I removed it!
need to get the exhaust back and on tonight ... had to have fancy ends removed to get the trackday silencers to fit ...
wife and kids are now coming .. making a weekend of it ... if it breaks Ill be for it x3 ...
still all a laugh ... dont reckon Ill be going mad on the track ... but still Im sure the AA could get me home!

That's a classic "big fuse" symptom... I carry a dozen spares if you need one.
I reckon I'll make it to CREAM - I only live 25 miles away !
Sorry guys, but I'm very, very pleased that other people are suffering like me. Makes me feel a whole lot better.
I've been assured my car will be ready tomorrow morning but I've turned grey in the last 24hrs with the stress and frustration.
If I don't get the Cerb' back, watch out as I'll be on track in my Diesel Freelander and I'd like to see you try and stop me.

Yes please Mr Beaky, that's already gone & as a temporary fix, I've put the two wires together (naughty boy I know), I problably havn't put them together tight enough, saying that I might meter the alternator, see what it's putting out.

Are you getting a Bus ?
I shouldn't say that because I do love the car, but sometimes
Please please please bring me a fuse.

Yep, check the output. When I started getting all sorts of strange happenings, rev counter, windows going up, doors locking/unlocking, I found that the regulator had packed up and was pushing out 16.5V. Way too much and risks destroying your battery at the same time. The MIL light will probably blink on and off at times if the charge is too high.
Radiator sprung a leak on the weekend, but i've managed to get it out, have an uprated core fitted, and get it back in just in time !!
Also had to sort out the air boxes, several hoses, some belts, sort the diff, weld up the exhaust manifold.
Hopefully after all that, the car is going to make it there and back ok, think i'll be carrying about 3 tons of tools just in case!!
I wonder what the total weight of tools will be, being carried to CREAM???

Where is this 100A fuse? Everything else seems to have broken recently so I guess that's next on the list. ![]()
It lurks at the back of the engine block in a typically awkward place. If it's not been changed before it might have a cover on it but they don't usually survive being removed.
A search on "big fuse" will give all the gory details. Or ask just about anyone at CREAM.
