Online home schooling

Not sure what section to put this under, but thought the lounge gets a lot of traffic.
Anyone on here have personal experience of online at home schooling?
We are looking at it for our teenager daughter, for a number of reasons, and there seems to be a few but they all say they are the best, they would wouldn't they!
Are there any governing bodies who regulate online schooling? I've noticed one we were looking at stated they are working towards Ofsted accreditation.
Any help would be appreciated.
