Definitely. It might be true he has a contract until then, but no one knows the terms. And as you say, anyone can be bought out of a contract if valuable enough.

So many folk leaving RBR.. obviously nobody wants to sit next to ol'sticky fingers on the pit wall anymore... But I suspect the concerns that their in house PU next season onwards are real and might have a lot to do with it too.

I think this is the third person on the pit wall to announce their departure this season? And who knows how many others that aren't in the limelight.

Doubt it. They could be running around at the back each season with no hope or care for success, they'd still likely justify the minimal cost for massive brand exposure. It wouldn't surprise me if the marketing value for the Red Bull brand exceeded the saleable value of both teams every year in fact.

The majority shareholders make money hand over fist for owning the teams.

They don't need have to agree with or fight anyone to maintain that ownership.

Why would they selll? Doing so, would almost certainly make them less wealthy within the space of a few years.

I fully understand the shine has been lost somewhat from RBR! But the bottom line is, any F1 team attached to a suitable brand is a money tree now.

Its certainly concerning for RB but these people leaving are being given either a load more dosh like Newey or are taking on far better jobs elsewhere. Either as Team principle or sporting director in this case. I don't think it evident of a sinking ship or of Horner's off track exploits.

I agree. It's most likely there is some reason (I speculated future PU concerns but it could be other things) that they feel personal or team success is more likely elsewhere as the sport enters its next era.

I'll caveat that by adding that I'm sure Horny's foibles haven't exactly helped with team unity, nor will the apparent battles between him/Marko/The Verstappen's.

It's rarely as simple as just one factor.

They might sell one but not both. At the moment I think ownership would sell the drinks company before they sell both F1 teams. There are only 10 teams to be had so owning one is prestigious, exclusive etc and not something your billionaire mates can easily do.

While a few have left, most are getting a promotion out of it. Not just a sideways step to another team but a promotion with the money that comes with it. Are they hitting a glass ceiling with little chance of promotion? Their stock will never be higher after the recent RB domination, some will be cashing in with a move.
