A friend sent me a link to this

https://collectingcars.com/for-sale/1993-suzuki-rg...

Anyone want to guess the winning bid? I assume it will be quite high.

Maybe I'm being hopeful, but I reckon £8,500.

Fantastic little bikes, but I'm too old for that sort of riding position now. frown

One owner from new with less than 2,500 miles on it? I reckon 11k

Not the best colours so not as much as it might have gone for.

Their fees are spiteful for whoever the winner is

Lovely bike though, brings me back to my teenage road riding years seeing that colour scheme

I disagree, I think they’re about the best colours so I don’t think that will hold the price back.

I agree, it's not the best colour scheme and nor is it the 'M' with the gull/banana swinging arm.

However, it is all original, low mileage, one owner and a UK bike - so I'd say/guess it'll be around £12K.

I bought a new RGV250P new in ‘93.. but the black and purple colours. Brilliant bike, but I had an original KR1 before..and that was nuts for a 250!

I’ll guess £8950 as prices seem to have softened

I would be interested to know what they class as a "recommissioning service" and have a list of what was done before I even considered bidding.

Last MOT'd in 2011 and only 20 miles since?

Even ignoring the minor service in 2012, I would want the seals in the engine done, the carbs stripped and cleaned, new tyres and new brakes before I took at anywhere near the road or track; there's another bag of sand at the very least right away, but then I guess it's not people like me who will be bidding so that extra supplement on top means very little to them.

I’d say 99% of people who would buy it for top money would have no interest in riding it.

Complete waste of a bike but that’s how it is.

Had one back in the day, was a fun thing to ride, until it seized on me flat out, brown trouser moment. Repaired it with new barrels and pistons, never trusted it after that, so sold it, regretted it ever since.

Yeah, lol. They are the colours for any Suzuki of that time!

Yep. I was a 15 year old at school and a sixth former bought a 125 in those colours, so to me they're the ones!

I didn't have an RGV but I did have a silver '97 RS250 in about 1999-2000 time. I bought it as a crash damaged bike with the plan to rebuild it but in the end I just used it as it was for a couple of years. It never actually let me down - lots fell off it but I put that down to it having had a hard life!

Sold it (including a brand new set of Mk2 bodywork I'd planned to fit from a mate's bike who raced his in the RS250 Cup or whatever it was called) for £1000 as I was skint and needed the money frown

For a bike with such miles and low ownership I would exploit to achieve north of £11k. Whilst the earlier colour schemes were nicer, I don’t think this is too bad.

I personally always preferred the Kawasaki KR1s back in the day but an RGV would also of been great.

I sold my Suzuki GT175 Ram Air with electric start to a mate for £80 back in the early 80s.

Saw one priced at £6000 last year.

(No one had a button to start a bike round my way, people would gather round to watch me start it biggrin )
