Best make sure I get the camera charged up then. Will I be able to get an unobstructed view of the track? (Distance less of a problem with a 400mm lens )

Everyone will indeed be able to see the track, although only those covered under the
public liability will have access to move around the track.

We are making a dvd of the event, so any footage would be gratefully recieved.

I presume you mean those going out on the track are covered under public liability? I'm not doing the track day, just the high speed run, so was hoping to get some pics of everyone in action. This may mean getting a little closer to the track, what would be the position on this?

No, that is what I meant, to 'move' about on the track (photographers etc) the venue insists they
have their own liability cover.

If you have a reasonable lens you'll have no trouble
filming the whole track, but you will only be able to be close in a couple of places.

Although I can't be there as am busy most weekends with something i can't break I just want to say a big well done to Graham for pulling together such a big event and managing it thru to what is obviously going to be a great weekend for everyone who can make it. Also, and even though I find some of his posts a tad OTT, well done also to SXS for his major prompt on PH a while ago to get behind the event and support Graham. Pulling something like this together is a huge task, especially the first time, and I am sure Ash's call to arms was a big boost to Graham and helped to produce the big turnout. Have a good one everyone.
