I have imported my car from Guernsey to the UK, and trying to sell it as I am relocating to the US imminently and most likely wont have time to register it here.

My question is will a dealer purchase the car without me registering it in the UK? And what do they need to do so?

TIA!

What’s the car? How old is the car, how long have you owned it, how long have you been back in the uk?

Was it originally supplied in Guernsey, or exported there?

Have you started / completed the nova import process?

Have you had it mot’d in the uk?

Do you still have the original certificate of conformity for the car?

Can take months and be a proper ball ache, can cost £500 + vat + import duty + dvla fees …….

This Jersey-registered car was sold on Collecting Cars (from Ascot), so I guess it's possible. Ad says import duty paid but still Jersey-registered at that point.
