Just had this update done by a dealer. When I got the car home and went out in the evening and switched the lights on I had a warning message ‘Headlight Warning Detected ‘. You can clear it by pressing ok. However this shows every time I start the car. I will be speaking to the dealer tomorrow but I wondered whether anyone else had had the update on cars 2018 -2022 I think and experienced the same issue. The dealer is 30 miles away so not exactly convenient if it has to go back. Interestingly they had switched my lights off, I normally have them on auto.

Perhaps the security update is meant to so annoy the thieves, with repeated headlight warnings, that they then give up stealing this model.

Well I phoned Jaguar and they said they would need to have the car back in to be reprogrammed. They were surprised that that I was having a problem. Anyway they can have it back in 3 weeks and have another go smile

I’ve just bought a F Pace so joined lots of FB groups (big mistake as it seems like they’re a liability, worst car ever etc never know such a negative lot).

I think your dealer is telling fibs as lots of people on these groups are reporting that they have headlight issues and warnings after the security update, and amusingly, SVR owners seeing 600+ mile ranges! If only that were true!

The car has been fantastic in the 2 years I have owned it, apart from the fuel consumption obviously, but who cares about that. The range is gradually resetting itself although it will probably be cocked up again when they have another go wink. Whilst I bought the car from a dealer I have it serviced by an authorised independent someone I trust. Dealers, well I’m sure there are good ones out there, somewhere. I know they are giving me some flannel I just ignore it to be honest, let’s get the job done and get out of there. It is a free update but they have done one job on the car and messed it up. Confirms my decision really.

When I had the same update in my Land Rover Discovery Sport I had to change some settings back to how they were before:
1) auto-headlights were turned off
2) fancy indicator lights were set to just flash
3) do the windows up by holding lock were turned off

So maybe try going into your headlight settings and see if there's something that has been turned off?

The auto headlights work. I just press ok to clear the warning. It was fine before it went in for the update and I feel that they should sort it out for me, but thanks for responding.

My car was updated in December and has the same problems, went to Jaguar in January for a service and mentioned the problems, was told it would need further investigation. Now booked in for March but are wanting £228 investigation fee. I have mentioned about the known problem to them so we will see if anything happens.

My range is also showing 340 miles to empty on less than half a tank for my SVR !!!

Has anyone actually had this problem resolved ?

Yes, see above. All resolved after taking it back to them. Absolutely no cost to me, nor should it be. They do a recall and it doesn’t update properly, how is that anything to do with you. I assume everything was fine before it went in?

Good to hear, I will find out in March when it goes back to them if they going to charge me or not.

This is a known issue post update. If you go on the FPace forum you will find similar instances there. I called them immediately within a couple of days and they had the car back within a couple of weeks to rerun the update which sorted the problem. They never mentioned charging me. They don’t have a leg to stand on if it goes in working and comes back malfunctioning.

Update

My F Pace was on on the 10th and no charge for fixing the " lighting fault " that was showing on the dash. Fuel range computer still wrong but that had start to correct it itself before it went back in again so I will monitor that.
