not sure what kind of breed a Weimarana is, but sounds like this one deserves to be on the end of a Jonny Wilkinson drop-kick....followed by it's owner, if you ask me.

Its like peoples kids, they own can't do no wrong, if they bully kids they are just playing or "thats not like me Jimmy, he a good boy", if little jimmys bully you may as well cut the other kids hands off as they are scum of the world.

A friend of mine has a heavy handed 4 year old ( likes to kick his younger brother in the head, and me in the balls ), it turns out the kid next door he has been bullying for the last year is now the cool one and the play group don't want to play with him, his mum keeps saying things like " ===== has such a gentle soul, he is a special child, and ----- is evil, genuinely evil, how else could someone do that and treat ----- like that ".

Always different when its your own, just some are blinder than others.

It's a type of pointer (gun dog).

Very unusual for one to behave like this - shows that it's been either badly trained or abused at some point.

IMHO and I'm gonna get shot for this probably but a lot of lady owners/walkers don't actually know what to do in a "fight" situation.

Seems like her heads gone up into the clouds and she's dealt with it....of sorts......in her own little way.

Basically the dog needs telling in no certain tersm what it's done wrong and why, time and time again if that's whats needed. Our Lab is a docile beggar and never starts a fight, but if "engaged" he knows what to do!

If it's an old dog that they acquired and it had bad habits already then she's goosed probably.

The owner needs a hefty size 12 up the arse, and then the dog needs teaching right from wrong

You mean your quote? I'm not going to argue with you at all, I'm sure you handle your dogs well.

What I did say is that "a lot" of lady owners, not "all".

Don't tar the breed - although boisterous they can be easily trained and are highly intelligent. There's even research being conducted with them at Cambridge Uni. as they seem to have the ability to 'sniff out' cancers.

Yes, I do have one, and yes I do get paranoid when it sniffs my b*ll*cks.

I wasn't tarring the breed, take it from me (a Staffie owner) I've had a gutfull of stereotypes.

I wasn't directing it at you / anyone in particular, just a general comment :-)

I've never liked Weimerangers (sp) ever since a similar experience with our dopey, docile old red setter getting bitten when I was a lad. There's also something about those yellow eyes that make them vaguely demonic - nasty brutes.

This particular woman and dog should be leashed firmly together by the sound of things.

I have stopped going to several dog walking 'hotspots' in my local area in the past due to people like her blatantly allowing their dogs to hassle / endanger my dogs or myself. On the flipside I have made mistakes myself and allowed my dogs to go and 'play' only to have to leash them again as they became too pushy.

Best advice is dont go to the same place anymore - and if you do keep your dog on a lead request that she do the same around your dog. Any reasonable owner wont mind at all...

Get a cat. Cats take their own walks and do their own fighting while you get on with something else

And you don't have to carry their turds round in a little bag as they'll bury them in next door's garden

I'm a woman with a little Jack Russell bundle of attitude. On one walk she decided that the ancient labrador who was passing her was 'looking at her funny' and launched at the poor old boy. She got pulled back, shouted at, a slapped nose and taken home, after I'd apologised for her to the labs owner. She's behaved herself with other dogs ever since.

just her being about will turn them into korean curries!

I've constantly had bad experiences with Weimeranas, mostly as a result of owning a 60kg dog that scared the living shit of them as he bounded up simply wanting to play, but managing to look pretty threatening. I'm sure they can be well trained and wonderful dogs - most breeds can - but imho they've always seemed very neurotic and insecure dogs.

That said, it definintely seems the woman wasn't helping the situation. Sorry to hear it, just gotta learn to avoid the stupid ones - dogs and owners.
