Trouble is tonker, can you be sure?
Personally I would rather give people the benefit of the doubt. So what if the likes of Dokic appear from time to time? They're the ones who look like idiots at the end.
There has been the odd suspicious one lately, but until they do something out of order I say treat people with equal respect, or else the trolls ruin the forum.
Personally I think it's a bit sad if people have nothing better to do than pretend to be somebody else on the internet

Unfortunately sounds like there's the 'our forum is cooler than yours' bullshit, where members of one forum go trolling the other one, only to titter like children back on their forum about how cool they were.
This is either annoying but ultimately harmless, or if there are script kiddies about then we get an infuriating re-run of the Kimpire episode.
Glad I'm not a mod. After all, there seem to be a fair few 'real' PHers who still troll and pick fights from time to time...

I would not like tohave missed chassis, for example.
ie fitting ferrari engine in punto comment, still is amusing years on.
As long as not rude, offensive, against forum rules, why not.. No has to reply, read the thread.

Holy christ on a pogo stick... I've just spent some time reading what passes for humour on another forum. If anyone thinks it gets bad here from time to time, try some other places - Pistonheads is an island refuge of sanity and maturity in the ocean of moronic bilge posted elsewhere. I mean, these people are supposedly old enough to drive yet act like they're six!

Not really, one kid, I bought hook, line and sinker, I honestly thought he was genuine (not the Osakan), and it turned out he was laughing at me on another forum. One chap on here I thought was a troll turned out to be a genuine chap, and from all accounts seems quite a nice bloke, and has been welcomed with open arms into PH-land.
I guess there is always going to be a misjudgment of some posters but i think if they are trying to be disruptive and people just treat them in a grown up manner then they will soon get tired of being here,there is always a chance that others could be misinturpeted because of their style of posting, myself included,sometimes i like to start a thread and watch other peoples perception of a situation simply because i feel that some are better at putting their point of view across in fewer words,this is all an education for me.
