RAC windscreen job

Got a tiny stone chip at the base of the windscreen today which rapidly developed into a 6" crack :grumpy:
Called the windscreen company number provided on my insurance docs, which was for a company I'd never heard of, but it rang through to RAC.
Have read the various postings in the archives on screen replacement, but all the bad reports seem to refer to Autoglass. Has anyone had RAC swap a Griff screen? They're coming with a van to where I work to do the job but I have the choice of taking it to their centre instead - are they likely to do a better job if I do, do you think?
It's the Warwick branch, in case it makes any difference.

Had mine changed through RAC and they really did a top job. I am very fussy and i couldnt fault it. This was done in Keighley, Bradford - ask them to give them a call if they have problems!! I did have to leave it with them over night and they wouldnt come out to do it for me? I was told by the TVR dealer that they would have to use the existing rubber surround (which was split) but the RAC chap changed the lot!!

All the research I did into windscreen replacement on my S lead me to believe it was best to leave it with them at the worksshop.
The RAC took 3 attempts (on the same day) to put my screen in on the S, but this is due to no rubber surround and the mastic/rubber compound/ that hold the screen in is on show..... it still was not perfect though but can't complain for £50 to fit.

Thanks guys - a chap at the windscreen place actually called me on Saturday to request that I bring them the car instead, saying (very honestly) "they're all a bit different and we might have problems" - it sounds like they've done a few before and know what to expect at least!

Yes, very well thanks. The only small problem was that they made a small tear in the dash top material where the previous screen had been glued to it (the chap showed me the old screen and it was obvious why it had happened). It's hidden by the wipers anyway so you barely notice it. The rubber trim is a better fit than it was before, and they put rust treatment stuff on the galvanised strips up the sides of the windscreen pillars before reassembling everything. The car was ready when they said it would be, and they even transferred my sticky magnetic tax disc holder over which saved me spending a couple of quid in Halfords for a new one. Very happy.
