Hi all, I work for a consultancy business of 14 people and looking for recommendations for an HR business who can help us. We want a small company who is going to look after us properly, and take a pragmatic and bespoke approach to working with us.

We are looking to organise and formalise HR policies in the business a bit more, and explore staff wellness and benefits etc to improve staff happiness and help staff retention.

Were based in the Cotswolds, but I don think geography should limit who we go with. Does anyone have any recommendations, please?

We use BestHR based in Glasgow. My business started with 6 employees and grew to 50 and I had BestHR on retained services from the start so they did all my employment contracts and policies. They also supported with all TUPE activity and kept us abreast of any regulatory changes. If you'd like an introduction with their MD let me know.

Pauline Eclipse Chester - 19 years with them.
They have some big clients but it’s great individual service at an astonishing price

I worked closely with ViewHR ( https://viewhr.co.uk/). They've help us grow the business and implement all of the typical policies and procedures you would expect. I'd certainly recommend them.

Take a look at who your HRDepartment franchisee is. I have used their Bristol office for exactly this recently and got good value, quality service from them.

They also gave good, pragmatic advice when we were having some interesting difficulties with senior staff members.

I use https://employmentlawsolutions.co.uk/

They are great and do a monthly retainer. Ask for Kevin.

There is quite a well known U.K. wide company I most definitely would AVOID. DM if you want the name.

My firm provides unlimited advice on employment law on a retainer basis, including contracts, policies and procedures. Our minimum fee is £95 per month plus VAT and I would be happy to offer it on that basis.

Have recently used Safe-HR and been pretty impressed. They offer a straight forward tool (covers all the basics such tracking holidays/sick logging performance management, managing HR data etc) and then an HR support service with a named HR 'expert' The support they gave us on sorting out contracts and HR policies was excellent and they respond to HR queries quickly. All for around £9 per employee per month. From memory no long contract tie in so if you dont like easy to move on

Any Leeds/Yorkshire recommendations?

Only got 3 employees, but employment contracts policies etc not updated for years.

Been quoted £2k for a package to review, refresh and keep up to date for 2 years, no idea if that's good value for 4 of us or not. It's less than £25pcm per person.
