I moved house a couple of months back. About 4 weeks ago I went through a speed camera and it flashed. I then realised if I do get a ticket, my driving license/log book are both still registered at the old address. I changed them online immediately.

Now I know Im a numpty for forgetting to change address sooner, not setting up post forwarding etc

But my question is how can I find out if I have a ticket issued to me? I don't speak to the previous landlord nor do I envisage he would let me know if I had any post, however important it may look.

Speak to the local plod I'd imagine. I think you can check licence endorsements online but I think that's only after they've been applied to you.

If you work out the county where the camera is. Look up the safety camera office address. Call or write and give them your registration number.

Or just wait.

Just a heads up..and more importantly, did you remember to inform your insurers?

I'd imagine the concern in this case is if they wait until endorsement has been added it will be a MS90 for failing to furnish driver's details.

But, yes, local police or safety camera partnership. Probably update your details before contacting them.

I can never work out why people don't get their post diverted for 6 months when they move, is it just a PH's thing? It can save an inordinate amount of grief

Maybe they're not as superior as you are?

It's hardly superior. It's a very cheap service that Royal mail offer.

Certainly wasn’t a cheap service when I enquired about it with them!

Ah, maybe it was part of my relocation package. And I didn't pick up the tab.

Would it not be possible for the OP to contact the people who moved into his previous home and ask them to forward any post?

If you don't use the royal mail service then you must make some other attachment when you move surely? I do always use the RM, but what do others do?

He could go round the houses to try to resolve his unsettling curiosity. Or, he can give his registration number and new address to the police force that operates the camera he set off, or thinks he set off.
If there are offences relating to that registration then the police will send an S172 requirement to the occupier or indeed the named party if the OP supplies his name.
Simple.

£96 for the year for a family of 2.

That’s hardly expensive.

Cheaper than ending up in court for ignoring a NIP I guess.

Sometimes things are worth the expense. Previous owner of my house did not use the redirection service and the number of letters from the taxman must have got them in a bit of bother. I just returned them to sender. stuff without a return address went in the bin.

OP call the ticket office for the force the camera is in. They will let you know if you have a pending ticket. We get it happen a lot and I've done it myself when my mum thought she got caught and my step dad is a bit pants with his admin.
